The Phelps County chapter of Habitat for Humanity has a campus affiliate chapter at the Missouri University of Science and Technology (Missouri S&T). The Missouri S&T student chapter was established in May, 1998 and shares Habitat for Humanity’s belief that every man, woman, and child should have a decent, safe, and affordable place to live.
The campus chapter raises awareness about the need for homes for everyone and fundraises for Habitat for Humanity and those in need. Their motto is “WE HELP PEOPLE,” and they do just that by helping out with many projects throughout the community, large and small.
The campus chapter has three main sub-teams. The Fundraising Team raises money for Habitat for Humanity, both locally and nationally, and for those in need. The Build Team finds and organizes construction projects around the Phelps County area to improve the community. The Small Projects Team raises awareness around the community and does non-construction volunteer projects throughout the year.
